Advanced Teachers’ Training  

The Sivananda Advanced Yoga Teachers’ Training Course (ATTC) is a four-week intensive given at our ashrams around the world
The Advanced Yoga Teachers’ Training Course allows graduates from the Teachers’ Training Course to deepen their spiritual knowledge during four weeks of intense yoga practice and study of vedanta philosophy. The approach to teaching is personal, focusing on the individual student. Upon graduation, students receive the Certificate of the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre, entitled Yoga Acharya.

The Curriculum
Yoga Asanas
Advanced variations and prolonged holding of the postures.
 Pranayama
One hour daily practice of the eight classical pranayama exercises.
 Vedanta
Study of the different philosophical schools of India and of vedantic meditation techniques: vedantic analogies, the doctrine of Neti Neti, the practice of Sakshi Bhav (inner witness) and Mahavakyas (universal truths).
 Raja Yoga
In-depth study of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
 Sanskrit
Sanskrit alphabet and pronunciation of mantras
 Anatomy and Physiology
Functions of the nervous and endocrine systems in relation to yoga.
Diet and Nutrition According to Ayurvedic Dietary Principles
Ayurvedic food will be served during the course.
